Ros Sculpher was the first full-time researcher in the Hip Unit at Exeter. She initially trained as an Orthopaedic Secretary, and she worked within the NHS for 10 years, latterly as Post-Graduate secretary. She started work gathering and compiling hip research data in 1988, and is now conversant with practically all database software systems. Ros is primarily responsible for the running of the Hip Unit computer systems and the gathering of accurate data on all hip replacements carried out on the Hip Unit at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre.
