| Jonathan Howell qualified in medicine from King’s College Hospital in London in 1991, and while there he joined the Royal Air Force on a short service commission. In 1996 he gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, and in 1997 he joined the South West (South) training scheme in trauma and orthopaedics. During this period of training he worked as a research fellow under the supervision of Professor Robin Ling OBE. His research interests have included several aspects of orthopaedic engineering, and in 2003 he was awarded an MSc degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff. In the latter stages of his training he undertook two arthroplasty fellowships, at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and at Exeter. In February 2004 he was appointed a Consultant at The Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, with a special interest in lower limb arthroplasty and revision. |
