Paddy Kenny graduated from the University of Dublin, Trinity Collge in 1990. Surgical training was in Ireland and orthopaedic training under the auspices of the Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. Having visited Exeter for a course and got the advice of a previous fellow (Owen Brady), I commenced aan arthroplasty fellowship in Exeter in July 2001 – July 2002 at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre. Following this did an AO trauma fellowship in Germany and subsequently worked in the Edinburgh trauma unit at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Whilst in Exeter he also undertook research into acetabular and femoral impaction grafting, a review of results, and the development of an Exeter acetabular defect classification. I returned to Dublin in August 2003 to take up a position as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the NationalOrthopedicHospital at Cappagh and at the JamesConnollyMemorialHospital in Dublin.
