| Eleftherios Tsiridis was born in 1968 and qualified in medicine (M.D.) with honours from University of Athens in 1992. He then joined the Greek Army Special Forces for two years compulsory service and in 1994 entered the specialist-training programme in Orthopaedics in Athens. In 1996 he moved to the UK for continuation and completion of his training. He gained the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Ed.) in 1999 and he then joined Stanmore and affiliated Hospitals in London for his higher training in Orthopaedics. In 2000 he was awarded an M.Sc.(Orth.) from the University of London and in 2004 a Ph.D. from the University of Crete (Greece). He was awarded the ‘A. Onassis’ scholarship in medicine from Greece in 2000 and the BOA/Wishbone travelling fellowship from the British Orthopaedic Association and the Royal College of Surgeons in 2003. |
